Bicycle and Micro Mobility Committee (BAM)

The Bicycle and Micro Mobility Committee (BAM) engages all of UCF’s existing transportation-related departments, committees, and advocates to promote a better infrastructure for bicycles and micro-mobility devices. The BAM Committee’s main focus is to help UCF become more bike and micro-mobility friendly with safety in mind. As a subcommittee of the Mobility 2030 committee, BAM will advise and recommend changes to create safer roads, a stronger and healthier community, and a Bicycle Friendly UCF through education, advocacy and promotion of bicycle and micro mobility devices.

BAM will make recommendations to the Mobility 2030 committee on:

  • Improvements identified by existing transportation-related departments, committees, advocates, and the UCF community for micro mobility (bicycles, scooters), and pedestrians.
  • Improvements to sidewalks, crosswalks, bike lanes, bike paths, and associated lighting, signage, etc.
  • Coordination with the host local government and other local governments regarding transportation improvements in the off-campus context area.

Group Cycling Exercise

The Recreation and Wellness Center (RWC) offers a wide variety of group exercise including cycling conducted by nationally certified instructors.

UCF Police Department – Bicycle Safety Tips

Cyclists are reminded that in Florida, the bicycle is legally defined as a vehicle. Bicyclists have the same rights to the roadways, and must obey the same traffic laws as other vehicles. At University of Central Florida, cyclists may legally ride on sidewalks, provided that pedestrians are given right-of-way and that an audible signal is given before overtaking and passing pedestrians.
